WELCOME TO OPERA STEAMBOAT
Located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Opera Steamboat was founded in 2002 as a nonprofit opera company with a vision to bring world-class musical arts programs to our unique Rocky Mountain setting. Steamboat Springs, as a community, acknowledges that this land is part of the homelands of the Indigenous Ute Tribes. Steamboat further acknowledges the continual fortitude of indigenous culture of Native Americans today. We will work to uplift Native Americans and strive for equality in our communities and beyond.

OUR HISTORY
2002
2003
In 2003, Emerald City Opera provided a vocal master class series to adults offering local singers an opportunity to work under the tutelage of visiting opera professionals in our first fully-staged production: Mozart’s The Magic Flute.
2004
In 2004, Emerald City Opera added the Touring Opera Troupe was designed to introduce young audiences to opera with entertaining stories and costumes and familiar opera music.
